Is it Mk4 or Mk5 Fiesta?

Y reg, 2001, 1.25 Zetec. Has the air box that goes over the intake manafold (kinda ontop of the engine).

Im proper confused to wether shes Mk4 or Mk5.... only photo i have

Thats a MK5.

think that the mk4 was 1999 - 2000 and mk5 was 2000 - 2001 but a lot of websites will group them together as mk4 1999 - 2001.

Visually the mk5 has a revised front end, different headlights and bumpers but I think the rest is pretty much the same, no idea about engine or trim changes though.

Isn't it different, in the UK i think thats called a mk5 but in reality (and rest of world) its a face lifted mk4.

As I said, its a mk5 but a lot of people consider it a mk4 face lift (which would make more sense). But its definitely a mk5.

It's a MK5, every parts place I've ever used has listed that particular car as a MK5 despite what wikipedia says.

Mk5. The Mk4 is the previous one that looks down in the mouth.

Technically it's a face lifted Mk4, but hey.

I take it you own one?

Does the gearbox feel a bit stiff getting into first, and the clutch a bit on the heavy side? Or is my transmission on its way out.......

First is pretty awful, even with everything warmed up. (Y reg 1.25 Mk5 as above)

Mines like that too,never caused me any problems.

Never had a problem and thats 3 Zetec s's, will let you know about the above as test drive tomorrow

Its just the one gripe I have which is making me want a newer car really, it isn't the smoothest of drives, and my knee aches in pain if im stuck in traffic!
