Cleared it. went through format and it got fixed...
now, every time I wake phone up, I get info that mem card is being prepared.
and not long ago, there was info that memory card is damaged..
at the moment there is nothing on it apart from photos from camera.
is my card dying ?
or could it be my note2 ?

Samsung cards:

when I was deciding on the microSD card for my phone it was pretty much between Samsung and Sandisk, but the more I read the reviews, the less inclined I was to buy the Sandisk. ended up with Samsung obviously, can't fault it.

back in the day, when I got my new Desire Z, after few whiles I noticed it's overheating, i thought it was the battery fault at first, but then took the microSD out and it was piping hot (well, and unreadable too, even in USB reader) the brand? Sandisk.

well ok, you have to be unlucky to have that sort of thing happen to you, but why take chances?

Had the same problem with a 32Gb Sandisk card on my S3. Sandisk replaced it with no issue. That was a good few months ago, the replacement card is still going strong.

I have this problem with a GS3. First sandisk 32gb class 10 card started doing this and packed in after about 3-4 months. Then bought a cheapo 32gb class 4 card which did the exact same. Currently on another sandisk 16gb card that must be pushing the 3 month mark:( I've read loads of forums etc and it seems that there are 2 separate issues;

  • Certain slightly older sandisk cards that don't like Samsung phones
  • Samsung phones that kill memory cards

I know plenty of people with a GS3 (who doesn't:p) and they are split into;

  • people who go through card after card like me
  • people who have no trouble at all

Took card out and now phone doesn't see it at all....
And just noticed that none apps are installed on the card as well and have only 1gb left on phone itself :(

I should have Samsung 16gb card somewhere....might try it when get back home today

I had nothing but issues with my Sandisk and GN2, constantly un mounting and other related issues. Solved by purchasing a Samsung branded MicroSD card.

Sandisk had issues with Samsung phones which they addressed a while back. Shouldn't be an issue any more really.

Lexar not so sure about!

with new android, apps should be installed on mem card not in phones memory...should they ?

You can't install apps on SD without root and doing some jiggery pokery. Even then, a lot of the APP2SD apps don't work very well any more.

Apps should be installed in phone memory and then use SD for your music, videos and pictures etc.

Depends on the phone. Usually apps will install to internal storage with app data on sd card if the developer has made it so.
