I left mine at home and need it sent to me, can it just be sent padded in other papers inside a regular envelope?

Or are there security risks or other risks involved?

My sister mentioned something about the ppl being able to scan the card even when its in the evnvelope

credit cards are sent normal post by banks aren't they? Personally I don't send anything normal post and I wouldn't make an exception in this case.

Id get it sent special delivery just to be on the safe side, its only a few quid.

Being scanned while in the envelope is rubbish, contactless payments haven't taken off yet.

No security risks as such, unless you count losing the card, and having it used online by someone who now likely has the billing address too (on the envelope).

I think that's massively over-cautious and a bit of a waste of money unless you only send things very occassionally. The amount of stuff that gets lost seems overestimated to me - my own experience is that the normal post is pretty reliable and pretty quick.

I wouldn't say there's much danger in sending the card in the post. Send it first class - if it doesn't arrive in a couple of days it's probably worth phoning the bank to report it lost. Even if it were somehow magically possible to "scan it in the envelope" then sending it by special delivery would probably just draw attention from anyone planning on stealing something!

Wrap the card in stiff cardboard, wrap the cardboard in tinfoil, then post Recorded Delivery.

Good enough? ;)

i can't remember the last time i've lost something in the post but others seem to be cautious.

i'll go with standard post and if it goes wrong, lesson learnt

This might sound a bit OTT, but put a piece of cardboard from a cereal box on each side of the credit card inside the envelope, so it doesn't 'feel' like a credit card to someone else. It would just seem like a birthday card or something.

-edit - basmic beat me... great minds n all that.
