Is it possible to clone old HDD with bad sectors?

I'm not sure why but soon after Ghost started copying, it comes up a box saying it has failed copying C drive with error code ec8f17b3. Maybe it's to do with bad sectors on old HDD?

However, windows booted up and running fine on old HDD.

Try that, looking around in google pointed that your error was the same as EC8F17B7.

Thanks, you have lived up to your name!

I have tried few suggestions from the link you posted and it still doesn't work.

I think it may have to do with Norton 10 but never mind, I will do a fresh install anyway.
