Is it possible to completely get rid of YouTube ads on iOS?

On pc, and on my android phone I have not had to put up with a YouTube ads for years, and yet I don’t seem to be able to get rid of them on my iPad.
I have tried the following:
- avoid the official app
- access YouTube via the safari browser with some blockers installed -I have installed Firefox focus & AdGuard
- OR using the Firefox focus browser

-I’m still getting ads.

do any of you have a workings solution to this?

it is not just a question of irritation but a matter of public decency. I was watching some prince videos with my children and we were served up an ad about weird pants -support or lined, I wasn’t sure! As I have adblockers installed I assume this is because YouTube assume prince viewers are woman of a certain age, rather than being based on search history!

Tenner Lady? They run those ads during the day on mainstream TV...

The service isn’t ‘free’ at the end of the day. If everyone used as blockers the internet as we know it just wouldn’t exist.

I don’t use YouTube nearly enough for £10 to be worth it. (Prob a couple’s of hours a month).

Alternative is to sign up to YouTube premium from somewhere like India. I pay £2 approximately a month, that’s for a family plan.

I don't think the mods will mind me mentionting the alternative appstore? It basically allows you to use your free apple developer account to sign non appstore apps? Then install youtube++

That said, I'd just pay £2 a month for premium, plus you get unlimited music with it

Weird. I’m using the YT app and only every see adds at the start of 20-30% of videos and these can be skipped after 5 seconds.
