Is it possible to have two different operating systems on the same SSD / HDD?

You'd partition the drive.

The boot loader will ask you which OS to load when the system boots.

With Windows 7 having such a short amount of time remaining you'd need a really good reason to be dual booting.

If you try this make sure everything is backed up properly first.

I use a SSD/HDD power switch to separate my various boot drives. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/lian-li-bz-h06b-sata-power-switch-black-ca-344-ll.html

Allows me to have separate drives using the same hardware. When one has an issue or needs reinstalling, the other is totally separate. Would be ideal when you give up on Win 7 as no need to mess about with partitions. Just remove win 7 drive.

Not good for laptops though :p Sometimes the only choice is to partition and duel boot. I now have Windows 10 on my Macbook Air 2011 model as well as MacOS.
