Is it possible to network share ipad 3 to pc (windows7)

Ok, my sister has just bought a ipad 3 and she would like to stream media(avi,mkv,mp4) from my pc?

Yeah I was looking at the Air Video and that might do the job and its only $3. Im guessing all the vids I run on the ipad will be full screen?

They run on the iPad like they would if they were synced I imagine, so black borders.

Top image is a MKV blu-ray rip, second is something I recorded from my iPhone 4S. There is a zoom 'slider' but I'm sure you can figure what happens then.

I think they exist.. I know on Splashtop Remote, were talking about wake-on-lan.

The "Air video" works like a dream and so does the "iNet WOL - Wake on Lan", thanks guys.

Im amazed how compatible the ipad is, and I was dead against my sister getting one as I thought you were very limited of what you could do on one. I still wouldn't get one for myself tho, I dont think.

It is limited in many ways

Jailbreaking makes them a lot less limited though.

Yeah its still very limited, i just was amazed how easy it was to get the ipad to see and stream media from my pc, as Ive had terrible trouble copying my media to a ipod. Even when I converted the media to ipod format it still wouldn't copy over using itunes. So I was kind of shocked when doing this on the ipad, cos a ipod and ipad is basically the same?

Not a fan of iTunes. Well neutral with it.

iPod touch and iPad are basically the same yes. Air video works on the iPod touch as well.

Any other iPod vs iPad then no, totally different.

Also the added benefit for Apple TV user's of airplay streaming from Air Video (unsure if Plex does it also).

I stream all my tv media from my pc via my iPad to my Apple TV. I do have XBMC installed on the ATV but I find I have horrific playback issues with 720p MKV's.

Works a treat using the Air Video to Air Play method.

Yeah Ive been using TransManager as you can copy music and vid to the ipod no probs without itunes. But ever since my sister got the latest ipod, TransManager dont work as it doesn't support the version of the OS on the ipod, so now Im landed with itunes, and I dont really like it either. I wish TransManager would hurry up and make a new version so I can copy the vids over again, plus itunes never put the music tracks in the correct order

On other question about Air Video, Will it prevent windows going to sleep as Ive set my pc to sleep when idel? It never went to sleep when a laptop was accessing the media on my pc, but Air Video is a tad diff and it would be annoying if my pc went to sleep halfway through a film.
