Is it Possilbe

Right i have a asus p4c800 duluxe m/b and use my 2 sata ports and have brought a 3rd sata hd .I thought i could just use the one of the raid ports for just a single drive but looks as if its not possible ( unless somebody with past p4c8000 experience can give a simpleton a few tips )

Im now looking at either getting a cheap and simple non raid 1 or 2 port pci sata controller card or a ide to sata convertot as i have spare ide. Which would you guys recommend am thinking towards con card but would like a few opinions 1st

is there no way just to run it in a JBOD so really it shouldnt need any raid config.

I used to run 4 SATA drives on a P4C800E Deluxe, 2 in RAID0 on the Intel ports and 2 single drives on the Silicon Image ports. I'm pretty sure all I had to do was set the SI ports to IDE mode and off it went - Windows detected the new hardware, asked for drivers for the controller and that was it done.

no mention of JBOD in manual so guessing not an option tryed other way win noticed drive on bootup and install drives but no joy

What do you mean by this? Were the drives recognised as new hardware but aren't showing in My Computer? Have you checked in Disk Management and partitioned / formatted them?
