Hi Guys

I have had my Skoda Superb for a week now and i thought i would let you know how i am getting along with it.

I only bought this on the back of all the recommendations they get on here , so has it been superb ?

I would say yes , they space they offer in the front, back and boot is huge. This model is the Elegance so it come's with heated leather front and back . It has the Columbus nav system , the maps are a little out of date but when its next in for service i have been told the nice men at Skoda will update them FOC.

Now i am mid 40's so i was looking for a comfy cruiser so the ride suits me well considering the size of it its very easy to drive and park thanks to parking sensors .

Engine wise its the tdi 140 , i do about 20k pa so happy with that choice , not that there's a load of petrols to chose from, the tdi seams to suit the car ok and its not lacking in drive though its no rocket ship ,, i have been returning 45 ish mpg so far but i will have a better idea on this after a few tank's.

Anyway fire away with any questions you have and i will see if i can answerer them for you.

A few pics :)

Right best go clean it and give it a vac .

I rather like that, although I have to say that it was a model I had never heard of before!

The brand is very popular in this part of the country though! :)

When the dealer collected me to go fetch my Fabia it was in one of these and it was really nice, so smooth on the motorway and very comfortable but you already know that :)

That boot is very nifty. I always thought they were a saloon.

Me too , until i researched a little into them. Most of the time if its just throwing bags etc into it i will just use the boot , larger objects and the dogs will require the full tailgate .

Would it not be illegal to drive the car on a public road, with the boot open in either position?

Restricted rear vision, and all that!

A hatch is obviously more practical for the family man, but some prefer the saloon looks. But Skoda had a great car there and just ruined it by waving the ugly stick over it, the back end just looks ugly :( The estate is perfect imo.

The space in these is phenominal and build and finish is excellent, I dont know why some one would buy a Passat over a superb, it just trounces its VAG stable mate in every way imo.

Ps is that the sainsbury's in Oldbury?

The 1.8 has 160bhp and does 0-60 in 8.9 seconds and tops out at 137 mph , and will return around 30 mpg around town so i don't think its that slow for what it is . Mind you if it was performance you were after i think the Octavia vrs would be a better bet .

Mine feels fine with 140bhp but i will mostly be up and down to Scotland on the motorway and with 70 being 2k on the rev counter its nice and easy to live with .
