is it time to re-paste?

and extra weight and tend to be pretty loud. I can't knock my AIO. it's done an incredible job for over a decade including 2 years running 24/7 mining and 5 years on a heavily over locked very hot running i7 5820k.

I just like to maximise the use of of my stuff .

With an AIO that old, a modern high end air cooler would likely beat it for noise and temps.

I'm moving my Haswell 4790k into a "new" motherboard soon. It'll be the first time I've had the cooler off. I think it's 13/14 years old.

I've never had a problem with temps...

I'd check out the dust before going through that rigmarole.

4790k was released June of 2014, so could be little over 12 years old, but still that's a lllooonnnggg time to be using same components! I'm on a 3600 built August of 2020 and it does what I need. I'm thinking of upgrading CPU so would obviously re-paste then.

Same motherboard, same cpu, same ram (although I ended up putting 32 in it instead of the 16 I started with) same psu. It’s never skipped a beat.

Obs I’ve put new Gfx in it. It’s currently got a 1660 gtx and a 2000 rtx in it. Oh and an intel 750 pcie ssd :)

I built with 32gb RAM and very glad I did! At first I had lot to spare, but now I often use 25-28gb. If I was doing it again I would have installed 64gb RAM.

I did a 250gb M.2 ssd and later added a 500gb ssd as well. I have 2x 8tb hdds.

Yeah, I thought 32gb would always be more than enough. How wrong was I? I think 32gb is max on my mobo though, even my “new” z97 board.

I think you're right about 32gb limit on Z97.
My B450M Mortar maxes out at 128gb. I rarely use all 32gb RAM and then is just because I have stupid number of things open. With prices what they are I doubt I'll ever increase mine.
