Is it time to upgrade already?

Just wondering if the 940 is a little passed its sell by date now and is it possibly worth grabbing something a little newer?

It currently still suits my needs and tbh I think I would see the greatest benefit from adding in an ssd but I'm waiting for prices to become a little more sensible

Get a new graphics card unless you don't game. Can you overclock your CPU further? Don't know what cooling you're using, if stock, buy a new cooler as well, such as Titan Fenrir

Currently use the OCZ Gladiator Max as my cpu cooler although in honesty not sure how good it is, seems to keep things nice 'n cool.


I do game although its at fairly low resolution as I use a 720p tv as my monitor so not essential right now that I upgrade, will wait for DX11 cards to establish themselves more and then make the move.

I think its gotta be an SSD upgrade but price are still waaay up.

the only real upgrade your going to get from the 940 is the 980x and if so are you going to spend £880 on a cpu ?

It's not as exciting as a new CPU or GPU, but maybe it's time to get a reputable brand PSU?

Forget upgrading the processor go for a better PSU or graphics card
