Is it time...

Will look am damn sight better playing BF3 than on the PS3 if I'm correct:D

lol deffo. My daughters boyfriend played it on the PS3, then see my setup and asked if I would build him a PC to play it on.

PS3/xbox360 are good fun but gfx are looking tired now.

Anyway, if I were to stick with my current monitor if I were to upgrade to a 7850. The performance between my current GTX 285 and the new 7850 would be minimal... correct?

PS3/Xbox360 are old technology now. I own a PS3...mainly due to being the cheapest Blu-ray player at the time and it's free online playing too. But now it's showing it's age against the latest PC's technology, no doubt PS3's Cell CPU still a force to be reckoned with....only letdown is it's own RSX!

Been googling on the web and found that the soon be release GTX670 ( If true... ) is expected to be sold for somewhere between $349 and $379. In sterling...that would be around £200 if I'm correct:rolleyes:

Really... I imagine the 670 performance will be close to the 580, therefore a similar price £350 at least i'd say. Especially considering the 680s are mid 400.

As you can see from that comparison, the 7850 spanks the 285 in a big way. At your res, I wouldn't like to say but you can pick up top notch 1920x1080 monitors now for peanuts. Also the benefit of DX11 makes everything look better (so long as DX11 is supported). As I said earlier, it all depends on the games you play and plan on playing.

+1

I expect a minimum price of £349.99 but 2 days to go till launch, so prices will be shown then.

You wish :D

not a chance a near performing card that almost reaches the performance of a 680 would be £200.

£310-£340 is my guess
