that the Olympic torch was first started by the Nazis for the berlin Olympic, if true strange we still do it 2day as it promote the opposite of what it should mean. bye

It was introduced for the olympics in Berlin yes, but just because the olympics were held in Nazi Germany and the olympic torch introduced under that regime doesn't mean the olympic torch reflects nazi beliefs and stuff.
Edit: The modern torch that is, the flame was introduced before hand.

Thats seems to show the earliest "flame" as 1936 in Berlin, but it mentions that fire itself was used much much earlier.

The torch was introduced by the Olympic committee at the 1936 games, not by Hitler. No country ever owns the Olympics, they are simply entrusted to that nation for 4 years.
unfortunately politics and sport will always be related.
'lets kick racism out of football' for instance. Not sure whether that is something which is clearly separate from the two. In terms of whether it was solely conjured up by the sportsmen or not is debatable, and certainly in passing it is. Also people being fined/ banned for 'racist' abuse in football grounds. By the policemen which are in the stands isn't it? The police chuck them out. The police are funded by whom?

As for the OP, it was indeed first used as a torch type thing in 36. The flame has been used since the Greeks afaik.

No the whole racism thing is more about the players being abused than any politics.
