Is it wise to mix different refresh rate monitors on multiple display setups?

Me and others report that mixed refresh rate monitor setups result in GPU memory locked at max speed constantly resulting in hotter idle gpu temps, posted this before but some people said it didn't on their system but the issue is known, I dunno if it effects newer GPU's but it does this on my 580

@Praz94 here's a turn up for the books. I tried a different game over the weekend and didn't have the problem of monitor 1's FPs capping to the same as monitor 2. Odd as the game is extremely more demanding but it behaved fine. Lots of variables and no way to give a straight answer.

I guess all this thread has done is confuse me even more :P
