Is it worth going from i5 3570K to i5 6600K ?

Find another £85 and buy a 980ti. You'll appreciate that a lot over the current card :)

Edit: or look on the members market as you'll have access rather soon (I think)

Why? 8gb is totally fine for a gaming pc. I dont think ive used over 5gb yet.

the only reason you can tell the difference is because thats a massive change, and will probably be causing stuttering and massive screen tearing. Also, what screen do you have? most screens refresh at 60hz, or you could have a gaming one that can do 120-144hz. Ideally you need to have 144hz and Vsync ON.

Switching Vsync on and having a solid 60, 120 or 144fps will be much better than 200-300fps fluctuating all the time. Especially since the screen cant even display 150-250fps.

However if you want more fps its the GPU you need to upgrade, my 7970 can do slightly more than what you get, and two of them close to 400..

Look at the spec for the new AAA titles launching this year. 16Gb is the recommend.

8Gb is still fine, but 16Gb is the new 8Gb if you catch my drift. The gamers choice so to speak.

I also believe that the Dx12 era is going to be RAM hungry.

Ive noticed with GTAV with all the eye candy turned up my system can go over 8gb usage but I think that's mainly as ive got 16gb it will use more.

Hey, I faced an equal dilemma when playing games on my PC.

I bought Shadow of Mordor last year, and my old GPU could not cope (SLI MSI 570's).

I chose a GPU upgrade and slapped in an brand new MSI 970, and my system plays all games easily and then some at 1080p @120 Hrz.

My Intel 3570k, happily zips along at 4.2 Ghz and I have an SSD with the OS. Result monster fast machine.
