Is it worth getting A 7200RPM in my notebook and getting 2gb of ram in my notebook for £300?

The hard-drive, yes. You'll notice an increase in speed, when Windows and programs are loading.

As for RAM. I would only put 1gb in, unless you intend to make it a gaming machine, or use Photoshop to edit large files.

I agree the hard drive is worth it, but as said the 2gb of ram won't make a major difference, except for games, and even then you will be graphics card limited unless you have a very expensive laptop

7200 is a good upgrade 2gb less so, unless you're using it to demo ERP software and need the database running at the same time as the apps
