Clocking doesn't reduce the lifespan, a CPU is made to run for about 50 years sowhat if you loose a few years, who keeps their cpu, mainboard for more than 5 years?? Most people upgrade, due to lack of speed, memory, or other things every 3 to 5 years.

yes void the warranty and reduce the life of the components so you can post results on websites.

I love this negative attitude towards this past time on a forum so named overclockers and amongst people who love the art. great place to start preaching warrenties and lifespans :D

Made me laugh that comment too. I've been runnning a E6600 at 3.5GHz for almost a year now and it flies, I get tonnes more out of my BFG and other components.

No point in overclocking that system until you really need the performance. It is a monster and should be good at stock for 2 years or so.

However, I would push it to it's limits for the fun of it.
