Is it worth Overclocking

Would it be worth overcloking my new pc ive built. not sure if i can improve on the standard settings that come with it

Your system doesn't need to be overclocked as it's an high spec rig, but if you want even more performance you could overclock it.

yes void the warranty and reduce the life of the components so you can post results on websites.

You should get it clocked, a nice 3.4 or 3.5 easily without breaking a sweat

Clocking doesn't reduce the lifespan, a CPU is made to run for about 50 years sowhat if you loose a few years, who keeps their cpu,mainboard for more than 5 years?? Most people upgrade, due to lack of speed, memory, or other things every 3 to 5 years.

Made me laugh that comment too. I've been runnning a E6600 at 3.5GHz for almost a year now and it flies, I get tonnes more out of my BFG and other components.

No point in overclocking that system until you really need the performance. It is a monster and should be good at stock for 2 years or so.

However, I would push it to it's limits for the fun of it.
