In my opinion, we should have an antivirus on our system. It is better to pay a few bucks rather than spending a lot when the system is corrupted or worst some ransomware attack. Many sites have malicious content these days and if your stored data is any worth to you then I would recommend using an anti-virus. These are my 2 cents but people could have a different points of views and opinions.

The only problem with MWB, it's a resource hog, until they get that under control I refuse to use it.

I cannot agree with that, i find it very responsive and exceptionally well threaded - it doesnt slow my pc down like mcafee or sophos which i use at work.
Then again i am running it on an overclocked 5820k with an m.2 ssd so....
