I'm considering upgrading my BFG 7800gtx 256mb to an ATI X1900XT, The main game i use my PC for is BF2 and the occasional mmorpg

As i have a 19inch tft and play at 1280x1024 am i looking to squander my cash or are their upgraders out there who have seen a real benefit in bf2 in this upgrade.

My cpu is a SD3700

I'm sorely tempted to click the buy button but just cant convince myself to do it, someone help me over the edge

Yes you should see a fair increase in fps with the x1900xt card for sure...
Have a look round at some the review sites.
(there loads of reviews out there on the x1900xt against the 7800 cards,almost all the hardware sites has them)

I wouldn't upgrade, you have one of the best cards out at the moment, I would wait until the geforce 7900 is out before you upgrade.

BF2 should run fine at the res with your card. Can you play the game fine, if so why upgrade?

Do you have 2GB ram as this is recommended for BF2?

Good point but i'm fed up of the ultra high nvidia prices of new cards, at least with ATI's new cards they are at least reasonable.
