is it worth the wait?

hi,
im thinking of getting about 200 qids worth of stuff from OCUK and was just wondering, is it better to buy now and save 2.5%vat or wait untill after the new yeah (dont know if there is going to be any sales on OCUK or not?)and buy it then.

Most companies don't change prices that much, they just make more profit when the VAT rate drops, and loess when it increases, can't guarentee it's the case for OcUK though.

afaik, OcUK reduced the prices when VAT was reduced, so I imagine they will go back up when it increases again. Can't comment on January sales however.....

I think I read here once that there are no January sales on OcUK, I hope they do as I'm getting some money for a new PC build and a sale would be awesome

At the end of the day the 2.5% increase on 200 quid is only a fiver ! hardly worth worrying about.

PC worth of components costing £740 before VAT

15% of (UK£ 740) = 111 British pounds

17.5% of (UK£ 740) = 129.5 British pounds

=

£18.50 extra with the 2.5 increase.

Not counting the additional 2.5% added to postage costs.

Any price cuts will likely be offset by this amount so any price drops will be neglible and will be offset by the VAT increase.
