Is it worth upgrading from a P4 630 3Ghz > P4 670 3.8Ghz?

800Mhz seems a good enough jump to me, but the benchmarks I have seen don't seem very convincing.

Or is it best to go C2D and get a MB and RAM as well?

Thanks.

Depends on how cheap the P4 670 is, and whether your OEM board can set the correct multiplier for it.

*edit*

Definately not worth spending £100.

I take it you're running DDR as opposed to DDR2, for well under £100 you could snaffle an X2 amd and motherboard from the members market, a decent mobo DFI etc possibly even a nice SLI mobo + an X2 3800+ could set you back as little as £70 incl del. add to that selling your current P4 at auction for around £30 ( just checked and it appears to be going rate ) and it could end up costing you - £40 to upgrade. regardless of the reduced clock speed and even at stock you would notice an improvement.
