is it worth upgrading gpu from a gtx480 ??

Less heat and less power used, plus less noise. So you would benefit for those reasons alone. If you are thinking of getting a 580 then they are about 20% faster than your 480 on average.

But if you were willing to wait. Nvidia will be releasing there new cards. Remoured to be at least 6 months before release however.

And there is also AMD which should have there new line of cards out sooner.

you could also go down the route of adding a 2nd 480 in SLI, if your mobo and psu would support, though that would be toasty, unless you can put em under water

i was thinking of 480's SLI but i will have to get a beefer psu as mine is 750w, and to replace the psu and get another 480, i mite aswell get a newer and faster card :)

is their any news on how much these new AMD cards will priced ?? as im intrested in a pair of 6850 in CF over my single 480 as i wont have to change my psu and 480's are still selling around the 175-200 mark

cheers

keep what you already have until it does not run well in games , dont do what i did (crossfired 6970's) as it was a waste @1080p . also not all games support crossfire (rage is one atm) , this is why i am running one gtx480 as rage seems to run this game better for me
