Is it worth upgrading your motherboard just for ddr5 Memory

I did a pc part picker with a 4060 and the power usage came out with 294 Wats and power supply is 550 shud that be ok you think
Not comparable because a 4060 uses much less power than a 4070, but it's not the overall power that is the issue, it is how your PSU handles the spikes.

Could always get a more powerful PSU if needs be
Sure, but I'm recommending cards that cost £500-£600 and the PSU would be around another £100 on top of that. If you have problems, you could try undervolting/power limiting, the 4070 responds pretty well to it, I believe the 7800 XT does too.

The Ryzen 3600 will cap the performance of the 4070 so the GPU won’t pull anything like it’s full power anyway. Unless you’re planning on gaming at 4K or higher (shifting the workload off the CPU) I think the PSU will be fine.

An RX 7700 is more than enough to drive a 1920x1080 monitor BTW.

For 1080p it would be fine, but if you're staying at 1080p then I wouldn't bother upgrading your 2060.

According to TPU here, the 4060 is only 38% faster than the 2060, whereas the 4070 is 113% faster
Yeah I wanna upgrade monitor to 1440 so won't be staying at 1080p ah that sucks but that 113% is defo worth more than the 38% increase

2060 -> 4060 is barely worth the effort, it's only a couple of steps better

Yeah I noticed that from tetras post so I will prob go 4070 my question is what's preference when it comes to the 3rd party branding eg MSI gigabyte etc see such a jump in price between brands like

So he thinks Asus tuf gaming but nothing beats the founders edition which is like £570

I have decided on the 4070 Asus Tuff gaming card but one last question what's the oc edition mean what's difference it's cheaper than other by like five quid

Just FYI: I don't know where you're buying one, but do keep in mind the price. @ OCUK the TUF is nearly £700 and it is most definitely NOT worth £700. A similarly performing 7800 XT is £500 and a faster 4070 Ti or 7900 XT starts at £750-£800.

I'd pay £550 for a 4070, given the better stock power and feature set versus the 7800 XT, maybe a bit more (like £600ish if I really liked the card/cooler), but not £700.

Indeed, always shop around for commodity items ;)
