I was thinking of upgrading my gaming system, but would i notice the difference if i did? I have a MAX of £500, then in about 9 months i can spend another £500.
I have..

Athlon FX 55
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
Corsair 1GB DDR XMS3200C2PT TwinX
XFX GF 6800 ultra
2x 74GB WD Raptors
Thermaltake 680W PurePower PSU
CoolerMaster Stacker 810

Option 1 - Change CPU, MoBo, RAM + keep everything else
Option 2 - Change GC
What would you do?

probably keep what you have, but upgrade to 2GB of ram. what do you play? It might be worth upping the graphics card as well, but I would probably wait a bit longer then go C2D.

I mainly play cs:s, bf2, and some rts,
I have a 19" Hyundai ImageQuest Q995, so it can handle upto 1600x1200

well based on that id change 2 things, 1 get the extra gig of ram, youl need this to run max graphical settings in BF2 and other modern titles without major stutter. so thats say £70, 2 get yourself a nice connect 3d X1950XT 256mb as its the best bang for buck card at present and will do you fine for the next ten months at least, nvidia dont have much in the same price range that can compete with it, so thats £164

as for your CPU, either just clock the hell out of it or flog it and buy an opteron 170 dual core, available for around £120.

alternatively you could just upgrade the ram and hold off on the graphics untill march when ATi`s card comes out which will lower market prices overall by a bit.

as for Intel CornRoll, personally i hate the company bitterly but then i make no secret about that, it all depends on you, i.e. do you want to have to buy all new parts + reinstall windows, or are you happy to upgrade your existing rig to keep you in the game for the next year and them progress onto a newer AMD format :)

p.s. your sigs too big im afraid, needs to be 400x75 pixels otherwise the mods will remove it and leave you a nice arsey yellow message :D
