Is it wrong to like this?

Being a respectable family man... with kids and the need for a 7 seater, would it be wrong for me to like this:

Yes its something id buy if id be able to have an Audi warranty on it... the only drawback is that I want (rightly or wrongly) a 4.2 v8 as I feel I need to waste as much fuel as possible

This is what I don't understand. Why are examples nearly 5 years old still going for around £23k? Is it because they're Audi and many haven't done much mileage as they all seem to be examples bought off Finance.

It's a lot of money, but slow? ~8s to 60 in an MPV is pretty good isn't it? OK, it's not the 4.2 petrol or the 6.0 TDI, but it's not exactly slow.

The weird thing is the 6.0V12 TDI IIRC 1 second faster then the 4.2TDI from 0-62. Yet a lot more expensive. :\

It's an Audi 0-60 time, so it'll probably feel more like 10 seconds after you've discounted the benefit Quattro has.

It may be quick for its size, but 8 seconds to 60 in isolation is what most petrol heads would class as being slow.

In isolation, yes. In a 7 seat MPV it's not exactly lazy. OK, it's not 'sports car fast', but it's not a sports car or anything like a sports car.
