Is Kodi the best solution for showcasing audio content??

My dad is looking to get hold of something to play his music library through his TV and I was wondering whether Kodi was the best option to give him the "eye-candy" in terms of browsing CD art, artist information and lyrics etc?

I use Kodi for my video content but don't have much of an interest in music so I wasn't sure if there was a more suitable "front-end" to play music through? (for instance, I don't know how good the "scraper" is for music in terms of identifying tracks etc??)

My plan is to go with a RPI2 with OpenElec installed on either an SD card or a USB stick.

Any suggestions welcome!

JRiver Media Centre would be better, I use it for music and video.

I've seen Roon highly recommended but haven't tried it myself.

JRiver looks very nice from the footage I've seen on YouTube but am I right in saying it's circa $60??

Does it offer anything over and above the free Kodi??

I've not used Kodi much, tried the old XBMC versions in the past and couldn't get on with them for video use on a desktop PC.

Foobar is a good free player, it doesn't look much as standard but can be customised I believe, not something I have tried though so I couldn't say what was possible.

I love JRiver because it just works straight away, does everything I'd ever want, also has a beautiful remote app, I use it on iPad and control all my music from the sofa. I have tried remote apps from big hifi manufacturers that come with very expensive media streamers and the JRemote app blows them away.

How does he store his music at the moment?

A Chromecast might be useful if he can access all his music on his phone/tablet, alternatively maybe the new Apple TV might suffice?
