Is latency going to be a problem on DDR5 modules?

standard ddr4 2400mhz kits will hit 4000+
Well it really depends on ICs
Some will hit 4000, some will struggle with 3200.

DDR5 memory reviews are more interesting to me than Alder Lake. Experience says DDR5 will beat DDR4 in a short while, like happened in previous iterations.
I still keep my Kingston Fury kit I bought with Skylake launch, DDR4 early days. Hynix chips, 2666 15-17-17 (stock, even without XMP). They ticked at stock timings DDR4-3000, 1.28V for many years. An example of early good DDR4.
But pick any B-die, and it is not comparable. Lower timings, higher clocks.

Question is, how soon until good "B-die" on DDR5

I'll let builzoid ramble about it soon but there's fundamental differences with DDR5 that make it quite different from DDR4 that comparing aida latency numbers don't tell the whole story.

It'll probably be around Christmas time when we see higher bins, more experience with tuning DDR5 and more bios maturity which is critical for ram tuning.

People want all the answers on Nov 4th but that's not a realistic expectation.

I think overclocking will only be worth it if you can increase the frequency, without changing the base CAS Latency.
