is my 1900xt finished for gaming ??????

I'm surprised how everyone is saying x1900 will run games high settings/maxed out

I've used a x1950pro and it was no where near good enough to run games at 1280 res.

Its a relative.

agreed, my x1900 has had it now, can;t run newer games well at all. those who say it runs good, are probably used to 15fps or have all the details turned down and don;t know it.

lucky im still using a crt so im not bound to a native rez, so if i have to i do drop down to 800x600 rez.

Not at all. My 1950 Pro 512mb card handles the UT3 beta demo very well. All settings on full and it only dips below the game-forced 62fps limit in the courtyard area of one of the DM maps.

I imagine the XT will be comfortable with most games if you're not running at max details AND max resolution.

Nope, very smooth framerates, and I assure you I know that I'm running games on full details, usually with decent levels of AA and AF. And again, that's at 1680x1050.

The 1900XT is still very capable.

x1950xt here, running UT3 at 1680x1050, max details (and yes, I'm sure they're max details....) dips to high 20s in VERY busy fight scenes, other than that it's 30+ which is perfectly smooth for me.

I'm considering upgrading to the 2900pro but it would literally be for the sake of numbers, actual performance improvements on UT3 would be hardly noticeable imo.

With decently coded games I reckon the x1900 is still good.

Went round to a friends house last night to see him with CoD4:modern combat demo, and it was running surprisingly good on an old A64, my loaned out 6800LE and 2gb of ram. Was pretty smooth with no juddering at 1280*1024 at normal settings. The x1900 in comparison would surely walk that game, with ultra smoothness lol.

just downd fraps booted up cod4 am getting highs of 91fps in close combat and around 42fps in open combat i get the very odd stutter but other than that its very smooth at 1650x1050 everything at default settings my cards is only the 256bit version.

My x1800xt 256mb can run cod4 on high 1440x900 but checking the fps in fraps its no higher than 20-25fps. 40 in places. This is with no aa/af or whatever you call it.

Dont know how much faster a 1900XT is tho

it dont stay at 91fps for lomg thow m8.and that is inside buildings at close quarters but it doesent go below 30fps buts thats only the demo i wonder what it would be like with a 64 player multyplayer game ????? id just like to point out that ive just added a usb pen drive in vista64bit and is set to use readyboost i cant believe how much better my comp feels now and it defo unloads games quick when comming back in to vista, sorry if its a little of topick but i can feel a good improvment in overall performnce witch maybe be helping in games as well now.

On the CTF map of the demo, according to fraps I get min/max/avg of 22/59/40. This is at 1680x1050/max details with an x1900xt 512mb/cat 7.9 drivers, 2GB ram and X2 @ 2.5ghz.

Avg 40fps is easily playable on this game.
