Hi,
My bro's specs before I continue
i7 920@4Ghz, Gigabyte X58A-UD3R, 6gig Patriot DDR3 C9 RAM
Saphire 5970 OC, HD audio, Gigaworks S750 7.1 speakers
2x 500gb SATA2 hard drives, Pioneer Blu-ray
Tagen 1100w psu, Cosmos S, Win 7 64.
Right, My bro's PC has been fine until recently, when he sometimes boots a red light appears on his 5970 and the PC won't post. The card works in my PC fine so we know the card is fine. A bit of googling has found that the red light on the card is power related. The thing is, is that his PC is fine with a 4870x2 which uses more power than a 5970. Do you think its his PSU going? He has tried different PCI-E power cables and also tried using molex using a converter but the 5970 still sometimes has the red light and other times boots fine. The PSU is a few years old now.
Thanks
