Is my card the source of the problems

ive got a month old sapphire 4870 512mb and ive been getting some graphics corruption and wanted a second opinion.

-ive been getting black screeen flicker, goes black then back to what it was etc. seems like its reloading everything on the screen in games.

-black screen crash

-vertial grey/black lines crash

-and checkerboard crash

how likely is it that its my gfx card?

CCC was saying 60 degrees underload nothing abnormal there?

im using an antec 900 case so good airflow, nothing blocking flow in the case or the vents at the back.

60 degrees is fine for stock cooler...

Strange. I would say Graphics Card... do you get crash to desktop too?

Do you have another card you can pop in? Or borrow one?

from demanding games like fall out3 i got ctd things like WAR just a screen flicker and reload.

i did increase the fan spead to see if that helped and it didnt.

techie guild mates said it was probably a heat issue in the chip i.e. the fan wount cool it.

i did try to fit my old crappy gfx card (ati 2400 HD) but its actually to small to fit in lol.

i just got my card back from OC and they said it passed their tests with no problems ( i didnt get charged tho lol so still a little confused)

any thoughts will be appriciated

atitool was saying that its driver isnt working? any way to update it?

hmm it may have been something really dumb but the gfx to monitor cable wasnt screwed in very tight before.

since ive got the card back i havent had any issues (touch wood lol), is it possible it was just loose at the back of the computer?
