Is my computer doomed?

Now that temps are under control you might want to do a fresh fresh install. That drivers issue is very annoying, rather than trying to fix it I'd be inclined to download up to date installers for everything and stick them on a memory stick and go through them one at a time on a fresh install.

Also you can get a second opinion of CPU temperatures from something like CoreTemp, but no, that screenshot doesn't suggest 75 degrees, more like 35, which is good. Your usages look fine, they'll wobble around from 0-100% as needed.

Hi all,

I thought I'd update!

It seems to have been a RAM problem, despite it passing MEM64. Replacing the RAM has completely stopped all the problems, including the weird start-up issue, and the new CPU cooler has reduced temperatures so they're never higher than around 40 degrees C.

I also rolled back the motherboard driver to an older one, which has made the USB ports functional again - it seems the driver has some kind of interaction issue with Windows 10.

It's worked fine all week, doing everything from working all day to video editing and playing multiple games of COH in a row. It's flawless.

Thank you all for your help, and for putting up with my strop when I misread Afterburner... I'm a logical girl, it irritated me that I couldn't get it working :)

Just for future reference, if you want to check if HDD/SSD is not faulty or going to be,
you can download HDD Tune trial and check for Health status :

as well as scan for bad sectors:

if even one red square appear, it's time to immediately backup your data and get a new
drive because from the time when the bad sector will appear you will automatically start
loosing your data, files will become corrupted etc.
