Is my computer good enough?

I’m confused to why you’re all telling me to get a better/bigger monitor. I thought a bigger/better GPU was the answer to more FPS.

Because if you get a GTX285 its overkill big time.
Its like putting a 1000BHP car engine in a reliant robin

My old 7800GT would play max detail at 1024 X 768 :p

Thanks guys,

I think I understand. I am thinking ahead. I’ll be upgrading the rest of my computer soon. But, as I need a new graphics card now, I thought I’d buy a decent card ready for my next upgrade (which may include a new monitor).

As per my original post, if I bought (say, now) a 275 would my existing setup handle it (for now)?

I wasn’t really thinking about resolutions and monitor size, I was thinking more about watts and CPU power (or whatever its called).

Cheers..
