Is my current drive OK?

I am building a new system and was about to look for a HDD, but, well, you know.

Is the HDD in my sig rig acceptable as a stop gap until things settle down again? It will be with an i5 2500K system.

I know the storage is small, but I'm more worried about performance.

Unless it's really old it should be fine.

The main thing to check is whether it's a sata or pata drive as many motherboards are now sata only.

Run it through a SMART monitoring app, WD Data LifeGuard has diagnostic tests that will tell you if the drive is flagged for potential failures on any SMART attribute, if all is good then it's good to go.
