Is my drive dieing?

I've a fairly new (under 6 month) HD, every time I restart my Pc chkdsk runs, its now found 24 bad sectors, is this drive doomed?

It doesn't sound healthy.

You could try changing the SATA cable and the connector on the motherboard but if that doesn't cure it then it sounds like RMA time.

You don't have one of the old B2 Sandy Bridge boards do you?

No it's not a sandy bridge board. I think I've just been unlucky with a drive thats going to die before its time - it's all backed up though, so won't be a disaster if it suddenly stops.

Do Samsung have a drive diagnostics tool like WD Lifeguard? If so, download it and run it on the drive.

Yeah, I just found it, I'll give it a go and see what it comes up with, although I now distrust the drive and will probably replace no matter what it says.
