The last couple of times I've booted my PC up I've had a clicking sound from my HD (it's a mechanical Western Digital Blue I think). Is it about to die?

It's my main data drive so I want at least 2TB and, mainly due to price, I'm fine with going for mechanical again unless there is an absolute bargain on SSDs. What is good/reliable these days?

Thanks. Next question then, is there a free tool or way within Windows to clone the contents of the old drive to the new one so it all just works?

Some drives come with the software (or at least, a license of the software), you can also get free software. I never use it, but my understanding is that some works a lot better (smoother) than others and in some cases it needs a USB caddy (which Kingston bundle with their upgrade kit).
