God, this seems so blimming simply but i think i have done it wrong.

If I had event A happening 100 times and event B happening 100 times.

And the percentage of A was 55% and the percentage of B was 45%. (of another variable)

If I wanted to change the results of how much event a was happing from 55% to 50% and event B to 50%.

Would this be right

event A happening = (100 / 55) *50
event B happening = (100 / 45) *45

.....this sounds really confusing i know....

Can anyone understand?

EDIT:

Ok erm, for instance:

If there the word "man" and the word "woman" was mentioned 100 times each in a book.

And the percentage of males was 55% and the percentage of females was 45%.

Assuming there is a link between two things (eg males linked to the word man..etc..).

If I was actually 50:50 males to females, how would the number of times the word "man" and "woman" be affected.
