Hi all.

Purchased 4GB memory from OC on Saturday.

It was the Geil 4GB (2x2GB) PC6400C5 800Mhz

which states

PC6400 800MHz CAS 5-5-5-15

I installed the trial version of Everest which shows:
DIMM1: GeIL CL5-5-5DDR2800 5
Module Name: GeIL CL5-5-5DDR2800 5
Serial no: None
Manufacture Date: Week 27 / 2006
Module Size: 2048 MB (2 ranks, 8 banks)
Module Type: Unbuffered DIMM
Memory Type: DDR2 SDRAM
Memory Speed: DDR2-800 (400MHz)
Module Width: 64bit
Module Voltage SSTL 1.8
Error Detection Method: None
Refresh Rate: Reduced (7.8 us), Self-Refresh

Memory Timings
@ 400 MHz: 6-6-6-18 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS) / 24-51-3-6-4 (RC-RFC-RRD-WR-WTR)
@ 333 MHz: 5-5-5-15 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS) / 20-43-3-5-4 (RC-RFC-RRD-WR-WTR)
@ 266 MHz: 4-4-4-12 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS) / 16-34-2-4-3 (RC-RFC-RRD-WR-WTR)
Cant tell you what DIMM3 says as it wont show on the trial version.

Does that mean my memory is running at 6-6-6-18 instead of 5-5-5-15 ?

If so, how do I change it please?

Everest Memory Timings:
CAS Latency (CL): 6T
RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 6T
RAS Precharge (tRP): 6T
RAS Active Time 9tRAS): 18T
Row Refresh Cycle time (tRFC): 52T
RAS to RAS Delay (tRRD): 3T
Write Recovery Time (tWR): 15T
Read to Write Delay (tRTW) 8T
Write to Read Delay (tWTR): 5T
Refresh Period (tREF): 3120T

Vista 64 premium, Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 E6600 core 2

many thanks

Phil

I've managed to find the advanced options in the BIOS and have changed

CAS Latency (CL) from 6T to 5T
RAS To CAS Delay (tRCD) from 6T to 5T
RAS Precharge (tRP) from 6T to 5T
RAS Active Time (tRAS) from 18T to 15T

Everest is now showing me
Chipset Properties:
Motherboard Chipset Intel Bearlake P35
Memory Timings 5-5-5-15 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS)

Have I done it correctly?

I've checked Geils web site and it says the memory is 5-5-5-15, it also says it can run from 1.9v to 2.4v. I notice in Everest it says:

Module Voltage SSTL 1.8

Does that mean it's running at 1.8v?

thanks

Phil

Yip you've done it correctly.

The correct current memory voltage (vdimm) is in Everests Sensors screen.
