Is my PS3 borked?

Basically my 18 month old son got behind the TV unit and ragged the HDMI cable out of the back of my PS3 and sat on the floor chewing it... it was all switched off at the time!

It powers up fine but my tv wont pick up a signal from it anymore... Do you guys think it will just be the cable or has he borked the PS3 itself?

Almost absolutely the cable if anything. No chance the PS3's damaged unless he's had a go at it as well.

No he hasnt well not recentley anyway... the tv does know there is a cable plugged in as ive tried it different HDMI sockets but that shouldnt make a difference should it?

Have you tried resetting the PS3 (hold down the power button until it beeps twice)?

I share your pain. I found my copy of GT5 Prolouge wedged into the dvd slot earlier upside down with a copy of harry potter already in the PS3 for good measure. Bloomin kids eh.

when my daughter first started crawling the managed to pull the car out the virgin box and inserted that into my PS3, luckily i managed to get it out by inserting disks and when it spat them straight back out one of the times it showed the coner of the card and i managed to get it with some tweezers.

but yeah sounds like your cable i dont think your ps3 would be damaged unless it poked somthing through the fan.

on the upside she can now change the dvd and play them herself on the ps3 at only 2 1/2

she also puts them away in the correct boxwhen s he takes em out (wish i could teach my wife to do that)
