at home, you?
been offered a 6990 cheap, but im unsure as to whether my psu is enough, im running a corsair cx600m along with

i5 2500k @4.5
12gb 1600mhz ddr3
2x 1tb wd green drives
1x corsair force gt 240gb drive
6950 dual fan dirt 3 edition

obviously wanting to replace my 6950, which im going to sell on at some point
just wanting to know if my power is enough, some people are saying you need a 750w min

I think 600w is fine but the problem u have is the Corsair CX series has cheap parts in it. I had one go on me last week. I have heard lots of people on this forum say 550w is enough for any single card build. The Corsair CX is for budget builds really, if u are going to have expensive parts it's best not to get a cheap psu.

Probably 600w just to be safe imo,

750W?? I think that's probably a bit excessive, btw I am running a gtx 760 fine with a CX600M, so you should be ok.

AMD website says "750W Watt or greater power supply with two 150W 8-pin PCI Express® power connectors recommended" so you probably will want to look at upgrading :/

check some reviews/benchmarks

Here is Guru3D's power supply recommendation:

Radeon HD 6950 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 500 Watt power supply unit.
Radeon HD 6970 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 550 Watt power supply unit.
Radeon HD 6990 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 750 Watt power supply unit.

If you are going to overclock CPU or processor, then we do recommend you purchase something with some more stamina.

So...a decent brand PSU 750w minimum and if overclocking something bigger!

750w still seems quite high to me though. I think any of those 650's that i linked would do it. Looking at other forums it's a bit hit and miss, some people say u need 750w and some say less. Probably the 750w is the way to go just to be sure then.
