Hi,

I just put together my first build with the following pieces:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT

Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4

Motherboard: MSI X570 Tomahawk ATX AM

GPU: Nvidia RTX 2060 Super 8GB - Asus turbo

RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) G.Skill Trident Z Neo DDR4-3600 C16

SSD: Samsung 970 EVO PLUS 1TB M.2

Power Supply: Corsair RMx Series RM650X

Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro ATX Full Tower Case

I have made sure that:

* 24-pin cable is correctly plugged in the motherboard.

* The motherboard has two CPU power ports (8-pin and 4-pin), I have plugged my EPS CPU connector from the PSU in the 8-pin port since my PSU came with just one EPS connector.

* The frontal PANEL is properly connected to the JFP1 port, AUDIO to JAUD1, and USB2.0 and USB3.0 to JUSB1 and JUSB3 respectively (I strictly followed motherboard documentation).

* PCIe cable is properly connected to the 8-pin power port of the GPU.

* CPU cooler is properly connected to the motherboard.

After checking all of that, I connected plug PSU and switch to on, but when pressing the power button in my case, nothing happens.

I have started to take part apart to do some debugging and I have noticed that the EZ DEBUG LED of my motherboard does not turn on when PSU is on, should it show some light to show that CPU and other components are properly installed? The GPU does show the LED on when PSU on, which makes me think that the PSU is working fine, and that the motherboard might be dead...

I have disconnected everything, just plug CPU, CPU cooler, one RAM, 8-pin EPS CPU connector, 24-pin power cable, and the front panel (power switch, power led, hdd led and reset switch).

I include photos of those connections:

I connect PSU to power, switch it on, press power button of the case and nothing happens...

Any proposals on what to do? It's my first build and I'm not sure what the source of errors might be. I bought all the components brand new, but I'm starting to be concern of my mobo being dead before opening...

Thank you very much in advance, I have decided to publish after so much reading on this website, it's a great place to learn!

Hi and welcome to the forums.

Not gonna be much help i am afraid as i have just switched to this board myself with a 5800X.

What i will say though is remove the ant-static bag from under the motherboard before switching on the power.

The outside of these bags are supposed to be conductive and may/will cause a short circuit.

Am sure others with more knowledge will be along soon to help out, most if not all are a good bunch. :)

Press restart button or Pull out all the connections on mobo bar the psu, Find the power poles on mobo (that you had wired case power button to presuming you plugged them in the right one :p ) , bridge these 2 poles with the head of a screwdriver for a second and see if comp starts
