Is my XFX4890...

Supposedly BFBC2 loves quad core CPUs so if anything you might want to think about upgrading that, the 4890 is still a decent card :)

Got a 4890 today, upgraded from a 4830 and I am simply stunned by the difference. Running Mass Effect at 1600x1200 with all setting up high and it runs like a dream.

Couldn't be happier with the £95 spent on it.

Here are my settings in BFBC2

Resolution - 1680 x 1050

Level Of Detail - High

Texture Quality - High

Shadow Quality - Med

Effects Quality - med

AA - 4X

AF - 1X

Vsync - off

Hbao - off

Highest frame about 90fps+ lowest about 40.

I dont have 4890, i got 5870, but do have E8400 clocked to 4 GhZ all set to maximum with both aniso and anti alias forced to max in CCC and it runs smooth as silk, your CPU will be able to deal with it just fine, and 4890 is as fast as 5870, you will be fine with this

you don't get DX11 with 4890, but it is as fast as 5870, read it somewhere, cant remember where, but if i am wrong please do correct me, or it might have been 5850, now i am not sure myself

4890 = gtx275
gtx285 = 5850
5870 = gtx295
5970 = nothing yet

^^Thereabouts. :)

@OP - The fps you're getting look pretty good to me, no need to upgrade, unless you are hankering for dx11. It is still very early days though for that. :)

Im playing Bc2 with a 4890 atm , runs very well but i have noticed that AA in the game seems slightly broke ? even at 4x i still see jaggys ?

dx 10

1680x1050

^^I tend to find that more with ATI cards. I think there is a fix for some games, though I am not sure of it myself, other than trying to force it in CCC.
