Is Overclocking dead in 7000 series?

I have just replaced my 5950x with a 7900x and it seems there is nothing to do as in overclocking as it boosted to 5.2ghz all core(88c) and 5.7ghz single core automatically, I was having a look in the bios and even though everything is on auto it seems everything is boosting as it should and there is nothing to play with

You can play with PBO and thermal limits

Overclocking days are pretty much a waste not worth it for everyday use they are pushed high out of the box with not much headroom

You can look at undervolting

Personally would tweak to reduce power / temps while matching or slightly beating stock performance

Got any hints for settings to use

Not sure what board you have but seen no hassle tweak on MSI simply just selecting thermal limit of 85c

How do you feel about that OP? It's good right, you can get straight to work

It is quite good but sometimes you just want to tinker

I don’t know if I can do any better than the auto TBH, 5.120ghz all core in P95 holding at 95c drawing 210w seems pretty good

What cooler/fan speed are you running and what prime test?

Custom loop and running P95 small FFT

I had a play with the automatic curve optimizer in the ryzen master and I’m quite impressed with the results

i will thank you now, just matched my best 5950x score with and it’s sitting at 5.25ghz in P95 small FFT
