Hi all,
I'm selling a camera via a classified ads service and have received an offer for it to be sent to another country to someone's son. They are paying me the price of the item plus the shipping cost. They have also provided me with a UK mobile number (whch I havent called yet). If they send me the money through Paypal, what are the chances that they can take it back by claiming I have not sent the item? Or if they're using some sort of fraud trick.

It's a risk you take. If it turns out that theres a dispute, PayPal is notorious for siding with the buyer whenever there isn't definitive proof that one side is at fault.

If you take loads of photos first, of the product on and working, and send it well packed with a tracked and insured service, I can't see how they'd ever side with the buyer. Still, good you didn't risk it.

If you ever sell anything and use paypal allways send it to the buyers registered address and allways send it signed for.

Otherwise your pants will be round your ankles before you can spens the money :P

No amount of photos or proof of posting can prove that you packed the actual item you sold into a box and then shipped it. I could take photos of me packing a camera into a box and then actually ship a box full of fresh air.
