Is RAM Damaged?

Hi everyone

I installed a Crucial 1GB stick of DDR3 RAM a couple of days ago. When I checked the BIOS it says 1024MB of RAM installed and 767MB of RAM detected. Also windows XP says 768MB of RAM under system properties.

Is my RAM damaged or is there something blocking it on XP?
