Ah, the Fire Clown, such fond memories.

BBC homepage is regularly down you just don't see it very often because of the cacheing layers in front of it. The whole thing is held together with string and sticky back plastic. Some of the modules never change (Ouch! blog) because new instructions from the CMS is enough to take out the page.

New one should be much better in that respect.
