Is the cheapest Conroe still likely to be faster than the fastest AMD?

Looks good to me, but no index ? - I like to skip through cos Iam lazy

Also I think min fps graphs are good sometimes instead of max fps as there is nothing worse then avoidable lag right at a crucial point and its always going to happen when 10 people decide to attack you at once.
Even if it stays above 25fps it can throw my aim off if its a dramatic drop from a previous constant 60fps.

This looks good -

The E6300 is the Core 2 Duo budget cpu, it equals the performance of an X2 4800+ roughly. If you overclocked that from 1.83GHz stock to 2.4GHz, it'd beat an FX62 in most cases! Also being £500+ cheaper it's the clear winner!
What Core 2 Duo beats the FX-62 not overclocked?

I think even the 6400 and 6300 can beat it at a lot of things.
I did actually see one benchmark where even the top conroe couldnt beat a fx62, it was i/o data handling or something. 1 bench out of dozens is fairly damming though.
Does the fx62 have an onboard memory controller, maybe that was why

:)
Wow...I'm famous now :p

I added the stock 1.86 results as well...a mixed bag of results. At stock it beat the 2.5 GHz 3800+ X2 in some tests, and lagged behind in others. No doubt its faster clock/clock though :)

And i edited the "real world" gaming comment, and just called it gaming performance, clearly stating at 800 x 600, the limiting factor would be the CPU
