I remember seeing flashes once in the middle of the night a while after waking up, no sound and they lasted a while, never did bother to have a look, thought it was distant lightning but im not sure, can you see flashes without sound if its far enough away?

Though i would have thought if it was so far the light wouldn't reach or be bright enough. :confused:

Lol, just watching a few other of these 'silent lightning' vids and there are people thinking that there's a secret UFO battle going on in the skies :rolleyes:
 
How strange, last night at midnight I was confused by the lightning when there was no clouds and no thunder... I guess this explains it.
