Is the gfx divide between the PS4 and XO narrowing?

Eurogamer with digital foundry make a good crust fueling console wars..

Ooh. The xbone version runs 1 fps quicker due to running at 900 p instead of 1080 p whilst digital foundry try to tell us that resolution no longer matters

Where would we be without digital foundry, important stuff this...

If anything it is likely to get bigger because Sony added lots of GPGPU optimisations into their GPU whereas Microsoft's GPU is just straight off the shelf, you're only likely to see it in exclusive games where developers put the effort in though(I am looking forward to seeing what Naughty Dog can do). I think the majority of multi platform games will be separated by resolution.. 900P Xbone, 1080P PS4 looks to be the common target.

Well there are the rumors that Microsoft work with (bully) devs into ensure that there is parity across the 2 platforms. So if anything the X1 may hold the PS4 back but the bigger that sales gap gets the less Microsoft influence with devs matters I suppose.

That's ********.

Why are multiplat games better on PS4 if this was true?

I mean look at BF:H/Witcher 3 to just see how stupid that rumour is.

Not saying it is true hence I used the word rumour.

Probably stemmed from articles like this:

http://www.vg247.com/2014/08/20/dia...olution-was-deemed-unacceptable-by-microsoft/

Based on the specs of the 2 consoles there really should be a bigger gap on multi platform games but it's not huge really at this moment in time. Perhaps this will grow but we will see.

After all, they did have those stupid rules for Indie devs and games releasing on PS4 first were not allowed on the MS marketplace so I wouldn't put it past them

Yes, anyone that points out that an unnoticeable difference in resolution is less of a benefit than smoother gameplay is clearly dumb.

It's not a conspiracy, why would devs releasing a game on both platforms make one version significantly better than the other... It wouldn't be of any benefit to them making a profit. Seems that Microsoft have played it smart as there is parity on the games front yet they have a much more rounded feature set.

That list of exclusives posted earlier just reinforces my point that there are literally no quality PS4 exclusives at present. And now that the saviour, uncharted has been delayed it looks even more bleak.

Why would it affect the developers profit margins if they made the PS4 version significantly better? oh so graphics do matter all of a sudden pioneer do they? :)

A more rounded experience/feature set? I have both consoles, please elaborate on this more round feature set you frequently go on about?

Looking bleak? it's got a stronger line up than last year and it still out paced the X1 for sales. It's going to be hard to stop that momentum. It appears that exclusive content actually means less this generation.

PC versions of multiplatform releases look better than the console equivalents, so your assertion that they wouldn't make one version significantly better is ruined.

Any time anyone mentions exclusives, you dismiss them with something about how the game is crap and rubbish because you don't like it.

It's like you're a parody.

1) More rounded feature set.

DLNA

Instant resume

Kinect

Custom backgrounds

Virtually silent operation

2) As we both know, I am discussing exclusives, so won't be drawn into multi-platform debate.

PS4 exclusives named in this thread (so I can only assume this is the best everyone can come up with):

Uncharted - delayed as they're scared to go up against Tomb Raider.

Deep Down - Still potentially a tech demo that has a current status of "development timescale had been extended". Christ knows if and when that will be released.

Blood Borne - Considering both Demon's Souls and Dark Souls were not particularly great, and they're all wacky Jap games, I very much doubt this can be held up as a AAA title.

Planetside 2 - The original planetside was pretty underwhelming.

No man's sky - Timed exclusive, but yes, i'll give you that one as it does look interesting.

The Order - Bahahaha. Terrible and already forgotten by most.

Rime - not even sure if this is a proper game.

Hell Blade - nope, never heard of it and judging by the lack of publicity I can only assume it's a naff independent ninja gaiden clone.

Until Dawn - once again, haven't heard anything about it. Considering it's a niche horror made by a developer with zero track record, I'm going to say it'll be mediocre at best.

Ratchett and Clank - I believe this is a remake of the original, which says it all.

Shadow of the Beast - we're remaking mega drive games now?

Street Fighter 5 - Fine, it's a good fighter but who REALLY gives a crap about them nowadays, besides playing in professional tournaments?

Alienation - So it's a reskinned Dead Nation, a game that was a PSN throwaway. Brilliant.

The Witness - Timed exclusive, and an iOS game to boot. That is AAA magic there.

Everybody's Gone To Rapture - "The game will take place in a village in Shropshire during the apocalypse".... my word.

X1:

Forza 6

Crackdown 3

Rise of the Tomb Raider

Quantum Break

Halo 5

Fable Legends

Gears of War

Scalebound

and we already have: Forza, Halo MCC, Forza Horizon 2, Dead Rising, Titanfall.

Most of which are huge, world-renowned franchises, not tacky indies or crazy Jap games.

Dead Rising, Titanfall and Fable Legends aren't Xbox exclusives.

Planetside 2 and Streetfighter 5 aren't Playstation exclusives either.

I'm not really sure you even know what you're trying to prove.

You forgot:

The Last Of Us Remastered

DriveClub

inFAMOUS: Second Son

Killzone Shadow Fall

LittleBigPlanet 3

What you think of the games is irrelevant. The PS4 is selling significantly more which suggests people find the games on the Playstaion 4 more desirable.

I think it's actually word of mouth, hardware difference and the negative image Microsoft gave themselves that is doing so well for Sony.

Not particularly great? Not only is Dark Souls the best game I played on the last gen (Xbox 360) but Bloodborne is the reason I've bought a PS4, thus proving (to me at least) it is a AAA title, a system selling exclusive and that you talk out of your arse. Really, your blinkered opinion of anything Xbox is extremely retarded and pretty tiring, and this is coming from someone who is coming up on 10 years Xbox Live subscription.

The rest of your post is just utter nonsense based solely around your opinion on what games you like and what you consider to be better exclusives for the Xbox. Also, you've made sarcastic comments about PS4 games that haven't been released and, more importantly, you admit you haven't heard anything about. I see you've not criticised any of the XBO games, either already released or not. Why not? Are they all automatically brilliant despite the fact you can't have played them all??

The only part of your post that made any sense was point 1, agreed, it does more than the PS4 currently and is marginally quieter.
