Is the human race devolving?

You have to think about how our immune systems (mainly in the west) are being destroyed. When we're young we're being bombarded with these '99.9%' germ killing crap. We're not building up the neccecary immunities and things such as asthma may occur.

The middle/top class aren't going to be breeding with these retarded chavs (even children from a chav family can turn themselves into respectable people of society, I know, I've seen it happen!) so in the end you're going to get a seperation of...social class I suppose.

The intelligent people mainly breed within the same intelligence line (No idea if there's any statistics on this, all assumptions by me) so the further forward in time we go, the larger the rift between these classes will become unless there's some form of revolutionary action which makes the chav/less intelligent/weaker humans normal or even 'super human'

Evolution has been superseded by science, no longer shall humans be subject to the travesties of evolution such as mental illnesses and genetic diseases. Gene therapy has already cured illnesses such as SCID and is destined to replace evolution entirely.

I view it as evolution in itself. We evolve the greater intelligence which in turn is allowing us to further evolve by destroying these diseases.
 
Evolution happens on a timescale too large for us to comprehend any of the effects of our current lifestyle. It's possible to see where we've been, but not where we're going.

On topic though, i think we have evolve to a point a dont need to evolve anymore as we have found a new ways to improve our lives and ones that are so much quicker too

IQ scores improves by 3 points every decade so they have to be renormalised down every ten years.


is say you took the test 40 years ago and scored 80 then you'd have been dim, now you'd be legally retarded.

Education and information don't help on properly made IQ tests.


It's supposedly to do with the ever increasing technical problem solving people are faced with in first world countries.

i wish we had standard iq tests given to all tbh like the Americans.

Would mean you could deliberately get a low score (but not low enough to be retarded) then a few decades later murder somone and get off on diminished responsibility :D
 
People are still going to get wiped out by new diseases, recently cancer. There will just be another bug/disease that spreads and kills. Our knowledge of diseases/infection etc will increase and how to cure them but IMO there will always be something around the corner to lower the population

Watching the Jungle episode of planet earth was fantastic. Seeing how viruses wiped out whole colonies of ants that were overpopulated. The virus spread like a fungus and grew from their heads, then dropped to the ground and infected more

Nitefly is the biologist (and lawyer now iirc) on here who always has to come in and correct these "zomg devolution" threads.

usually with a massive post with diagrams.


He usually has to start with why there is no such thing as devolution.
