Is the PSP region free ??

that is, will it play games imported from US, Canada or Hong Kong ? not bothered about UMD movies,

Yup as far as i know it is...my canadian psp plays both n american and uk games but UMD movies, it only plays north american ones.

games in the most part are region free. My UK PSP has had troubles connecting to a Jap PSP to play THPS Not sure if that got fixed in a firmware upgrade

UMD films AFAIK are region coded.

I don't think there has ever been a handheld that wasn't region free.

Whilst the games are reigion free in that you can play them on any PSP, to play them online against someone else you both need to have the same reigion version of the game.

I have a US PSP and have no problem playing Lego Star Wars II with a friend who has a UK purchased PSP.
